Grad Gowns

I'm not graduating this May but I've seen so many dresses I would love to wear to my graduation. I put together a little polyvore set with a few of my favorite dresses that I would pick for graduation (high school or college!).  I think that a graduation dress should be classic, something you look back on and still love.  So I picked out 5 simple but nicely tailored dresses in simple color palettes, the less busier the better in my opinion. Enjoy!

Back for the Summer!

After taking a week at home to doing nothing following finals, I'm ready to get back into the swing of things! My summer is going to be a relaxing one, all I'm doing is going on a few trips, studying for the October LSAT, and taking a few easy online classes.

To get things started off right I rounded up my must haves for the summer

Sunshine Style

I love a low key summer style that you can throw on in 10 minutes, with that in mind I chose simple but bright accessories to the basic beauty produces and the easy tshirt combinations.

As for the pink YSL wallet/clutch, I am DYING to actually have this YSL clutch which sadly is no longer available at Neiman Marcus. Maybe I can find one by mid summer, fingers crossed.

ps. anyone signed up for birchbox?! I just signed up this month for the Gossip Girl themed on and can't wait for it to arrive.

Thankful

I'm thankful for many things in my life this year, family, friends, health, and prosperity.  I can't be more excited to spend the rest of the week with my family.  I'm taking off Thursday and Friday to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family on our farm outside Austin (and because there is only dial up internet there).

Here are my favorite Thanksgiving looks:

Thanksgiving

Our family Thanksgiving is more of a casual affair, so I'm planning on wearing outfit number three. I'm keeping my figures crossed that my boots will be at home waiting for me!

Which look will you be rocking Thursday?

Cords Done 3 Ways

cords

Today I was itching to go further into my cold weather clothes stash and discovered a couple of pairs of cords I forgot I owned.  I highly suggest getting some cords for the winter! They are classic and a nice change up from jeans. I always buy mine from the J. Crew Outlet, there is always a lot of styles and colors to choose from.

Enjoy!

p.s. Happy November!

Fashionable Football Saturdays

I pulled together a couple of different looks you can wear tailgating and to the game on Saturday, no matter where you go to school.

game day outfits

Look One.
When I think football games I think cowboy boots. I paired them with a flirt shirt and feminine top (also seen in my last polyvore set) in my school colors to show my school pride!

Look Two.
This outfit is geared towards an SEC football game. Girls in the south love to dress up and football games are no exception.  I picked out a TIBI dress, since the brand is so youthful and contemporary.

Look There.
In my opinion this outfit would fly at any tailgate, at any school, no matter who you are (fan, student, alumni). Everyone should invest in a great pair of riding boots for fall.

We have a week off here in Tuscaloosa, so I expect everyone to be working on their outfits for the biggest game of the year on Nov. 5. Roll Tide!

Frost Yourself

Loco for Lulu

I LOVE Lulu Frost! They have such fun and youthful pieces that I can't get enough of. Lucky for me Lulu Frost designs for J.Crew from time to time and offers great pieces at a faction of the cost! Want to check out more on Lulu Frost? Head over to their tumblr page.

These are what I'm currently lusting over:

October Essentials

October Essentials

1. Zara Pokadot Top: $60, 2. Ralph Lauren Belt: $47, 3. J.Crew Jeans: $98, 4. Anthropologie Dress: $358, 5. Lulu Frost for J. Crew Earrings: $65, 4. Tod's Loafers: $395, 5. Essie Polish: $8, 6. Crystal Mask: £1,530

Thoughts behind my polyvore set:
To me the month of October is all about orange, even though I have a few friends who dipute this and claim to be "allergic" to orange aka the Auburn/Clemson haters. For me, as soon as I saw that Anthropologie dress, I was in LOVE (I guess the years of growing up in a U of Texas house wore off on me). Next, I'm a firm believer that every girl should have a pair of straight leg jeans in a dark wash. You don't need any loud embellishment or colorful stitching, a plain classic pair will carry you from season to season. The pink belt incorporated for breast cancer awareness. Lastly every girl needs a crystal Halloween mask.

Rain Essentials

Rain essentials

I wasn't originally going to post on rain essentials but the past few days have been rainy, so I thought this post was much needed. I know whenever it rains I just want to be comfy and warm, but by the end of the day I end up hot. So the best way to tackle the guessing game of dressing for a rainy day is layering.

Most people think wellies are the only option for rain footwear but there are so many other choices (although I am in love with those two tone hunter wellies)! I added a pair of Tory Burch jelly flats as a more practical shoe for the rain, but Bean boots are also a great choice.

Opt for a hairstyle that won't go crazy the moment you set out the door. Go for a sleek ponytail or a fun braid (more about braids tomorrow) that can look chic and under control.

Lastly everyone needs a statement umbrella!
